One of the fun, or not so fun part of getting back home is going through all the photos!
It's right up there with laundry, cleaning up the kitchen after John being home alone for several days, and trying to get the girls back on their normal schedule.
We tend to have a lot of photos. John informed me the other day that he thinks we need to get an external hard drive because we have over 25 GIGS of photos already! It's hard not to take pictures since they're so darn cute!
So we'll be playing catch up the next couple days with pictures and post...
We headed up to spend Easter with my family. I drove while John slept almost the whole way. It was nice, two babies sleeping in the back and one in the front!
John woke up long enough to take this lovely picture!
I RARELY drive on road trips anymore so he wanted to document it. This was like it used to be in college, I'd drive and John would sleep. It's just a little different though of course, back then.... No Babies.
The whole way it was rainy and cloudy and looked like it might pour down rain any minute.
The girls don't really care for road trips. This is the type of look we get when we arrive. They definitely let us know when we hit the 2 hour mark on the road as well.
Evie
John stayed with us for a night then went back so he could work.
Evie and Ada
The girls did pretty good at my parents when we got there, but Grandpa was the only one around so that helps to not be bombarded by a new place AND new people.
The girls didn't exactly take a good nap either. We put Ada in the crib and Evie in the pack and play. Ada rolled around and got her legs stuck. We decided bumpers were a must. So John went on a Wally World run. We weren't sure if any of the bumpers would fit so he picked up a set and for a Plan B he bought a pack and play. Wally World's choices on pack and plays were pretty limited. Two, yes two pack and plays; the completely over priced Disney pack and play, and as John described it, the crappiest pack and play he's ever seen. He went with the Disney one.
Luckily the bumper set worked, back to Wally World for the Disney pack and play. this helped with the night too!
Pretty happy babies in the morning!
The girls played with some of my old toys from when I was a baby. It was fun to see how they liked them. There were two of the telephone rattles. Kind of funny because how often do you see phones like this anymore?
Even with all the old toys that were mine and the new ones Grandma got for the girls they still improvise with toys.
Evie hanging out with Daddy. That's a pretty serious, don't mess with me look!
Evie was REALLY adventurous with her exploring and crawling. She was going anywhere she fit (and some places she didn't).
This included behind the couch. She went all along the back of the couch with no fear at all!
Pretty fun first couple days for the girls, I bet you can't wait for more tomorrow!
We did have a couple catch up pictures to share as well from before so here you go:
