We had a long weekend with lots of excitement for our family!
First, Ada decided that it was time for her to take some unassisted steps on Thursday evening. Everyone is very excited {grin} Since then she's become pretty adventurous in her walking attempts. It's really more of a game for her then a means of transportation, but she's getting the hang of it. John is trying to teach her "nice and slow" but that doesn't usually work yet.

We spent the weekend in Des Moines for the big party for John's parents. They were celebrating 40 years of marriage! It was nice, we got to see all the family and the girls got to "play" with their cousins. Play usually means Ada and Evie looking in astonishment of how the bigger girls NEVER STOP moving and talking!

Evan was such a snuggle bug on Friday while the girls were taking a nap. I took full advantage of this since our girls don't snuggle much.
The day of the party Grandma Roberts had Amie from My Peanut and 2 Little Lady Bugs come over and take some family pictures. This was great! Typically this is a duty that John and I assume and we didn't have to, so thank you so much Amy! However John did have a hard time staying out of the way...
When we've traveled in the past, we have the girls sleep in their own pack-and-plays. On the last couple of trip, this causes some problems, mainly, that my girls can not touch each other. So this time we used the big crib for the girls to sleep in together. They haven't slept together since we first brought them home from the hospital. And the girls slept GREAT! We'll be doing this more often, and it makes traveling easier, not having to bring 2 pack-and-plays!
We did have some tired babies on Sunday morning after a late night...
The girls were so tired by time we got home that they slept themselves back onto their "normal" schedule and got acclimated with the new time change. It was a great thing that it was all one weekend, saved us dealing with messed up schedules twice.
The girls were pretty happy to get home and play with their own toys. They've been loving their Noah's Ark toy recently.
The girls have been big helpers in the kitchen, can you tell?
Ok, so usually their help isn't so much HELP, but it's pretty sweet...
So that's our late weekend in a wrap! Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Yay for Ada! I am sure that they will both be walking around on their own before you know it, which I think is so much fun. I love that they enjoyed sharing a crib....how sweet! :) It must have been wonderful to snuggle Evan since the girls are always on the move!
