Girls, meet the grass.

In June we have a trip planned that we're going on a long car trip. 

The girls aren't big fans of the car.  They definitely let us know when we've hit their 2 hour max.

This normally isn't a big deal since both John's parents and my parents only live about 2 hours away, and that's the only place we've gone.

The problem with the trip in June?  we're looking at about 6 hours...

John and Ada in their new hats.

So we've been trying to plan a route where we have a place to stop about every 2 hours or so.

We know John's family is on the way and 2 hours in.

After that it gets a bit bleaker.  We figured the girls are going to have to get some quality outdoor time that day.  So in preparation we introduced them to...

Grass.

We put a blanket out in the grass and then let the girls play, when they decided they wanted to venture off we let them go.

They weren't to sure of it at first.

Of course it was Evie who ventured off first.

She didn't think anything of it.  She is fearless!

Ada however DID NOT like the grass.

This was about as close as she would get.  She still was starting to cry here...

It did not slow down or phase Evie at all.

Ada was pretty interested with the pull string on Evie's hat.

Evie apparently didn't like Ada messing with her hat...

So tackled her.

Ok, so that's not what really happened, but they're starting to crawl over each other all the time now and don't really seem to react.

It looks like it's going to take some more practice in the grass before our little trip.
