A Family Christmas

Christmas part 3!
We had our family of four Christmas!  I love all the Christmases but I think this may be my favorite.  It's a nice day that we can relax and celebrate on our own schedule! With John's work schedule we pushed most of our Christmas celebration a day ahead, but luckily the girls are young enough that they didn't notice!

Our day started off with a family tradition that came from John's family.  Christmas stockings!

The tradition is, first thing after waking getting up we all go downstairs together and check the stockings and see if we got anything special!

Bedhead and all...

Ada and Evie did get something in their stockings...
It's just hard to tell by this picture...

I love that we have a fire place that we can hang our stockings in front of!

The girls were pretty excited to get to play with their stockings!
This is something that they've been wanting to do since they were hung but we haven't let them.

The girls then pulled out their stocking stuffers.
They each got their own bottle of nail polish. The Mama was pretty excited about this!
They also got some little people toys which they love!

After we went through the stockings, I took the girls upstairs to get dressed while Daddy finished the feast he'd been working on cooking.  Remember I said that our Christmas was on our schedule...
Well, really it's on the girls schedule and our Christmas dinner started at 10:45 am! {grin}

Daddy made a roasted chicken, carrots, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and rice!
What a meal!  We all loved it!

The girls chowed down on the chicken!

Getting some Christmas love for the Mama

The rest of the day was pretty relaxing and normal until bedtime.  That's when we read Christmas stories.  The girls did an amazing job of wanting to sit in Daddy's lap while he read to them.

That was the end of our 2011 Christmases!  What a great time!

So as the book goes...
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night."
