John works crazy hours. I'm sure that I've mentioned this before. Unfortunately with his hours we miss things with family frequently. This year we missed Christmas with John's family. All reports say it was a good time. Instead of making it for Christmas Grandma and Grandpa Roberts decided to come and see us at our house instead and deliver presents and everything. How nice!
Well before they made it we had some bad news...
Grandpa Roberts was sick and couldn't make it so Grandma was making the trip on her own. It's really too bad because he was sick last year too!
As you can tell by Ada's expression she was pretty down about it when we told her.
The girls couldn't believe it!
The girls then spent some time waiting for Grandma to arrive!
When Grandma finally arrived the girls were making their way down the stairs to play in the living room, perfect timing!
Of course the girls had to play with Grandma's purse. That's a necessity every time she comes!
We even found a rosary!
Grandma let the girls open a present before they laid down for their nap.
It was pretty exciting!
After presents the girls took an AMAZING nap!
Unfortunately it was too amazing. Grandma had to leave a bit earlier then usual because she was driving home by herself and the girls didn't wake up in time to say goodbye. It was pretty sad.
Of course within 20 minutes of Grandma leaving the girls woke up!
That night the girls got to open the rest of their presents (and Mama and Daddy did too!)
There were plenty of gifts for all. The girls had a great time opening presents. After each present they opened Evie would start saying "more" and signing it. It was pretty silly.
We had a nice little Christmas with Grandma Roberts and we hope that she enjoyed her trip!
