This November John's parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. That's a long time. Since it's such a big event, they're having a party. Of course we're going. Since we found out about the party we've been on the hunt for the perfect outfit for the girls. We have it! Don't worry, I'm not going to ruin the surprise of what they're going to wear. However, today the girls got to experience one of the true joys of getting ready for a big event....
SHOE SHOPPING!
Yeah, we took the girls shopping for shoes for the big party. They loved it...
The whole ordeal as pretty exciting. They pulled down as many shoes as possible. It was so exciting that Evie refused to get back in the stroller...
John refers to these outfits as their Jailbird outfits.
Just like the outfits, the shoes are just going to have to be a surprise! I know you'll be waiting in anticipation.
Thursdays are always one of our busiest days of the week. John doesn't work Wednesday nights. There's no football (besides the really poorly produced local high school football on TV that John insists on watching because "hey it's still football"). We usually try to get to the store. Today we also did some baking!
I made pumpkin cookies! And yes, I started from scratch for the pumpkin.
I must say, I'm pretty impressed with myself. John still doesn't want to eat them. He doesn't like pumpkin. He tried to tell me that pumpkin is the strongest aphrodisiac for men, and he doesn't want to start trouble by eating the cookies. I called bull crap...
I'm thinking that today would be a great day to introduce the girls to cookies!
I'm not sure if we ever talked about it but last Christmas the girls received crib aquariums. They're little toys that attach to the crib that move and play music and have lights. It's supposed to help sooth the girls. Recently after some chewing on the crib incidents we put the aquariums back up. They have become a HIT! They can turn them on and off on their own. They do this ALL THE TIME! We've already had to replace the batteries. They take 4 C batteries each!
Last night when we laid the girls down to go to bed Ada started crying. By time I got to the stairs, all of about 10 feet max, she had gotten up, turned on the aquarium, and laid down to go to sleep quietly. They use them all the time!
Enjoying their new numbers and letters toys.
How many can we carry?
Since we setup the toy room, the girls have taken full advantage of it.
Advantage to turn it into a WAR ZONE!
John tried to teach the girls a new game today. The "pick up your toys" game. It didn't go over so well.
I know we talk all the time about how the girls are bald. But they really do have hair. It's just hard to see. If you look really close you can see her little curls!
John may call these their Jailbirds outfits, but I call them their Hoodlem outfits! When they got up from their nap, Ada had her hood up, when we tried to take it off she got upset and cried until we put it back on! Our little hoodlem.
Do you think that these two could be related?
I do!
Wow, what a post full of random stuff....

I love the boots they were wearing with their "jail" outfits! I am looking forward to see their party outfits and shoes! I am sure the cookies were delicious! :)
