Where's the meat?

Ada and Evie were late starters with food.  They breastfed exclusively until 9 months then started baby food.  Now they're loving food.  No more pureed food for them.  I think I told you how they just revolted against pureed foods, and who can blame them.  This brings me to the dilema that I run into daily.  What the heck do I feed you!?!? And now, it seems like all we do is eat!

Waiting not so patiently for food

I know that they're ready for most foods and let them try all kinds of stuff.  But being the "overly cautious" Mama that I am, I still am pretty conservative on their food selections.  How much "flavor" can they handle?
Meatballs!

But what's the best... my little ladies LOVE meat!  All kinds of meat, but their favorite... that's beef.  Just like their Mama {grin}

Lickin' their chops for the food

Recently we've been experimenting more with what they can and want to eat.  Along with beef some of their favorites include sweet potatoes, rice pasta, and pluots.  I suppose it could be much worse!

Mad eating skills!

We use the cook book that John got me for last Easter a lot and it's  AWESOME.  It has all kinds of baby food recipes from puree all the way up to toddler food.  A lot of the food we eat ourselves!  This past week we made meatballs and baby chicken chili.  Unfortunately it's a pretty small cook book.
Eating chicken chili

And the results.  They loved it until they got cilantro in their eyes! Poor babies!

What do you feed your little ones?  I can always use some good ideas! Maybe we should share recipes...

  1. I love the pictures with their messy faces! Those huge bibs are awesome too! We give the kids the same thing we are eating. Some of their favorites are meatloaf, pasta, meatballs, turkey burgers, anything chicken. :)
