We went to The Big Latch On event with the girls over the weekend like I told you about back on Friday. It was pretty cool stuff! There were about 20 or so Mama's and babies. There were babies REALLY young (like 3 weeks old) and babies older then our girls.
You know the most amazing part about the event?
We NEVER got the 20 questions about the girls!
People respected that. We got normal baby questions like, how old are they and stuff like that, but never once were we asked "Are they twins?"
SIMPLY AMAZING!
It made me feel great knowing that there is a strong supportive group of Mama's in the area that strongly support breastfeeding and other natural baby stuff.
I believe ALL the babies there had cloth diapers.
Many of the Mama's did home births.
Many of them co-sleep.
It was like we found a whole new community!
The girls loved the store. There were toys galore for the girls to look at. Evie would just point at the toys and Screech as she pointed! She kept showing up the wooden toys - just in case you're in the market for a late birthday or early Christmas gift {grin}
John came along as well which was great to have him there to support everyone and to help me out!
I brought the camera to take pictures, but we didn't get any during the actual Latch On part of the event.
He said that he would've just felt kind of creepy!
The store, Baby Junk - which was great and we'll be returning to, did take pictures of everyone and said that they'll be posting them on their facebook page.
It was really nice to shop in a local owned store again. It's amazing the quality of customer service you see from employees. I really appreciate it and that's the #1 reason we'll go back.
So overall - the event was a success in my eyes and more importantly, we all had a great time!
Sorry for the lack of pictures!
