I don't have to carry around bottles.
I don't have to buy formula.
I really don't like washing out bottles! And have you seen John wash dishes... not a good thing!
One great thing about breastfeeding... it's FREE
When my girls were in the NICU - and there was nothing I could do... knowing I could pump milk for them was one thing I knew I could do to help my girls. And I pumped like a crazed mad women every 3 hours. Just ask my mom and sister, who helped out those first few days after the girls were born. I was a crazed woman whose goal was to pump as much as possible. I did. Every 3 hours like clock work! I pumped at 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12am and 3am. I had 3 freezers full of expressed milk. {grin}
At the beginning, my plan was to go back to work right away. Which was why I was okay with all the crazy pumping. I knew when I returned to work, my milk supply would go down. Therefore, stocking up with milk while the girls were in the NICU seemed like a good thing. But plans rarely go as expected!
