Buddy Walk

We spent some time down in Des Moines this weekend with John's family. It was great to see everyone.  We do get to see John's parents pretty frequently, but we don't get to see everyone else as much as we'd like.

This weekend was the Buddy Walk.  The Buddy Walk is an annual event that is held all over the country to help support Down Syndrom.  Evan is a couple months older then the girls, and last year we missed the Buddy walk to support Evan and his team because the girls were still in the NICU.  This year we decided to try to show some support.  We trucked down to Des Moines for a couple days to see everyone and participate in the walk.  It was a great weekend for the walk too!  I'm not sure how big Evan's team was last year, but this year he had over 25 people to support him!  It was AWESOME!!!

The girls were so excited to see everyone that they thought they didn't need to sleep.  The whole weekend pretty much.  Naps - yeah right.  Sleeping all night - NOPE!

Ada did snuggle up with Grandma after the one short nap she did take.

It wasn't warm enough to play in the pool this weekend, but it didn't keep us from playing outside!
Check out that leaf!

Why hello Olivia!

The girls were both pretty interested in what Olivia was wearing under her dress.  Olivia was a good sport about it too.

The girls cleaned out the cupboards in Grandma's kitchen.
John kept looking at all these tins and asking his mom why she didn't make things for him in these?
Of course she said she did, he just didn't remember.

Daddy with his silly girls.

Evie played in the walker.  She did a good job considering her feet BARELY touched the ground.  She could only go backwards, how cute.

Ada taking a water break while playing with Olivia.  Don't worry, Ada wasn't really drinking water out of the bottle.

Evan hanging out with his Mom.

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts had some REALLY cool farm toys that we've never seen.  They were pretty sweet!  The girls loved them.

Evie went straight for the red tractor, Grandpa Kunkel would be so proud!

Grandma Roberts with the girls.  Look at that silly look from Ada!

Evan's Entourage for the Buddy Walk!

This is the long line of people for the walk.  It was a walking trail around the pond at DMACC in Ankeny.  The line went almost all the way around the pond.  It was great to see so many people show up.

There's Angie and Chris pushing Evan in his stroller.  He looks pretty laid back with his feet up and all.

Of course Evan had to relax with his Dad under the tree for lunch.

We're really glad that we had the chance to go and help support Evan and the Buddy Walk!
