NICU Reunion

Over the weekend we went to the NICU Graduation Reunion that the girls were invited to.  Yes, the same one I was worried about attending.  We had a nice time going to the reunion, we were surprised!  The first nice surprise was that we got to meet fellow blogger Nikki and her family.  She has twins also (Luke and Sam), they left the NICU the same time that our girls were admitted to the NICU.

We then got to see some of the nurses that we actually liked in the NICU, they acted like they remembered us, but I'm not sure if they did or if they were putting on a good show.  One of the NICU doctors came and said "Hello, I don't remember you really..."  I suppose that this was a good thing.

Of course, like all events, it had it's "moments." The first was when the NICU nurse that yelled at me and made me cry started walking over to us.  I didn't know what to do!  I gave a really fake smile and tried to prepare myself to fight back tears.  Then all the sudden she turned around and walked away...  Later I found out that my wonderful husband gave her A LOOK. It must have been some look if it stopped her in her tracks...

This was not THE LOOK

To attend the "reunion" we had to RSVP and everything.  We were expecting a big hoopla with some appetizers and all.  Instead, punch and cookies.  We really had to RSVP for punch and cookies?!?!

Overall the best part of the visit probably was seeing how healthy our girls really are.  My heart goes out to all the moms that have NICU graduate babies that still have issues.

Before the reunion we had planned on going to the Farmer's Market, but of course the weather didn't cooperate.  Since we were in need of some produce (We have to get butter crunch lettuce and tomatoes for BLT's!) John braved the rain and went downtown to the market.  He came back with a little surprise as well...

Cute headbands with little flowers!

He actually had one of the companies, city-made, design and make them for us.  He got 3, one for each of the girls and a matching one for Mama!  The girls love their headbands...

Well, would love to eat them anyway...

They're pretty cute and John says that it looks cuter on me then the girls because I have hair.

Maybe the girls will get hair eventually and it'll look cuter on them...

Thank you Daddy!

  1. What a sweet husband to think of his girls. Those reunions really do make you appreciate how lucky we are to have such healthy kids! :)
