Visit to the Park

The girls got their first visit to the park!
Our neighborhood has a great little walking path that goes all throughout the area.  We've never really utilized it before, mainly because it's SUPER steep and hilly.  It's not, oh kind of hilly, but San Francisco hilly.  I guess it brought back to many memories of when John and I rented a tandem bike in San Francisco and rode to the Golden Gate Bridge.  Yeah, it sounds romantic and all, but by time we were done we were lucky that were both alive and still married!  A little piece of advice, never rent a tandem bike!
Well, either way, John's been taking the girls on walks at night while I get things done around the house.  He takes them on the walking path.  Along the path he found that there are four park areas.  We decided today to go for a little walk and let the girls play at the park for the first time.  Let me tell you, they loved it!  For starters they enjoyed the walk, it's very shady so we can open up the canopies on the stroller and they can look back and see us.  They were pretty excited about that.

We also sat them up a lot more then usual.  We got the hint for that when they kept trying to sit up themselves.

We had to visit all four parks before we found one that was nicely in the shade.  Why do they insist on building every park smack dab in the sun?!?!
So once we finally found the park, it had one swing.  It of course was a nice little baby swing.  So we did what every parent of twins have to do...

Yep, let them swing together!
Ada LOVED it.
She was laughing and smiling.  Evie didn't want to sit up, she just wanted to lean back on Ada.  Ada didn't mind though luckily.

Evie took some time to warm up to the swing, but eventually enjoyed it.

Then John took the girls down the slide.
All three of them were less then excited.
(I think John looks the least excited.)

We then decided to let the girls play in the sand.  We figured this would be short lived after the grass experiences.
We were wrong.
They LOVED it.

Ada played in it and crawled around in it.  They both were digging in it and picking it up then watching it fall out of their hand.

Ada was all over in the sand.

Ada was giving the eyebrows at first.  Notice the large pile of sand that she had collected in front of her...
They hardly even tried to eat the sand!

Ok, so they did get some sand in their mouth, but we figured that would happen.

By time we packed up after about 45 min or so the girls were pooped...
So they kicked back and relaxed for the walk home.

We learned several things on this walk...
1. We don't have to visit every park before we play.
2. Sand will get EVERYWHERE, especially in diapers.  It seemed like we brought home half the park.
3. Leg warmers aren't needed at the park, while they may be cute, not a good idea in the sand.
4. White onesies are NOT a good idea for the park, especially when you play in the sand
5. A little sand in the mouth won't hurt to much...
