4th of July

The girls had a great 1st 4th of July!
Actually for them it was just another day, but it was a good one!
The most important thing is that they were actually able to sleep all the way through the night on the 3rd into the 4th, unlike their Mama, through the completely excessive amount of fireworks going off all around our house until inappropriate hours of the night. It sounded like we were just outside of a warzone!  Call me old, but there's a level of respect that you should have for your neighbors, and lighting firecrackers at 3:00 am doesn't fall into that level! Neither does lighting large amounts of fireworks off in the middle of the street and expecting all traffic to just stop for you.  But I suppose that's something that I have to deal with since fireworks are legal in Nebraska.  I grew up in Iowa where they weren't legal.  Of course out on the farm you would see people's personal fireworks displays that they were able to put on after a rogue mission across the South Dakota border to smuggle back in the explosives (usually on some back roads that you may never find again), but they were typically done by 10:00 or 11:00 pm and it was nice and peaceful the rest of the night, as it should be!

The girls did finally get to wear their super cute 4th of July outfit!  I've been pretty excited about this...
Yes, the shirts say "Little Firecracker"
Yep, that's a pretty good description...

Are these shorts not just the cutest and silliest little things ever?

We've been doing some rearranging of toys and such around the house.  John thinks we need to pack up some toys because they have too many.  I disagree.  I moved all the toys into the loft where they play the most.  In the process the girls thought I was making an obstacle course for them.  They would roam around and pull out toys that I just put away.  Then the tunnel came out...
This was a hit!
We had the room divided in half with the toy baskets and the only way to get from one side to the other, was to go through the tunnel.  The girls loved this game, it was hilarious watching them roam back and forth, both try to get through the tunnel at the same time, and turn around in the middle.  This was at least 30 min worth of entertainment.

We did spend some nice time outside as well since it was a nice day out.

Evie's eating a leaf, she apparently thought it was a salad.

That face says "not outside Mama!"

The girls now love to drink out of their sippy cups with straws.  They don't care if it's full of water or milk, they just want their drinks.
And don't even try to take it away!

It looks like Evie is in trouble the way that she's sitting there!  She really wasn't she was just still a little unsure of the grass.

How cute!
Hope everyone else enjoyed their 4th of Julys and were safe!
